Today’s post is on Mac’s Brow setting gel. As you can see from the picture above this is a transparent gel which when applied to the brows sets them so you don’t get any wandering hairs. It is also available in other colours but I personally prefer to stick to clear.
The packaging of this product isn’t anything special, just you standard tube (like a lip gloss) and the applicator is similar to a mascara brush.
The formulation of this gel is pretty thick and gloopy and it smells very chemically… something like nail polish/remover but during application and after you don’t smell it. It’s only if you purposely try to.
I use this product after brushing and filling in my brows to set everything in place. When you apply it you can sometimes feel that it is a little wet but nothing major and it soon dries. It leaves your brows set nicely but doesn’t give them a horrible dry, crisp feeling. They still look at feel naturally soft.. no one would even realise you had used this! I never have to re-apply this brow gel either, it easily lasts all day and evening. I often use it on it’s own too as I don’t always fill in my brows.
Without fail I use this product every day. I will definitely repurchase!
This product is available from Mac for £12.50.
P.S I haven’t included a picture of the gel on my brows as you can’t see it at all (plus they are in need of getting threaded!).
1) If you apply this gel to your brows after filling them in then clean the brush, otherwise you will make the gel go a murky colour. This doesn’t make a difference when it’s on your brows but if you want to prevent product contamination and the look of the gel in the tube then it’s a good thing to do. I would also
2) Apply this gel before you use your powder unless you clean the brush. If you don’t do this then as mentioned above, the gel becomes murky which doesn’t look too nice!
