Today I have a review for you on the Maybelline 24 HR Color Tattoo eyeshadow in rose gold. I will apologise now for the size of some of the photo’s…. I’ve had a fight with blogger over this and sadly I didn’t win!
The packaging of this creamy eyeshadow is a small, compact, glass pot which I really like as it is slim and not bulky. You get loads of product in the pot and although I do end up applying quite a bit to get a good coverage it will definitely long me a very long time.
As already mentioned, the eyeshadow is a soft, creamy consistency which in mainly pink in colour but has subtle gold undertones. This product doesn’t have a strong scent at all and you don’t notice it unless you intentionally smell the product. As for the coverage, I found this a little disappointing. I have to apply quite a lot of product and really take time smoothing it over my eyelids with my finger tips to get a nice even coverage. You’ll see in one of the pictures below that I have rushed the application so it isn’t even at all. The best way to apply this eyeshadow is to use a flat brush as you can build the colour up and easily blend it over your lid. The results are much better.
Once the product is applied it is very long lasting. The first time I used this I actually forgot to put on any primer but it stayed on all day and evening on it’s own without needing any touch ups which was great. This product works really well as a base on the eyelid on it’s own or teamed with other eyeshadows whether they be cream or powder.
Despite the coverage being hit and miss if you rush the application I like this product and will continue using it. The rose gold is such a pretty colour and is an easy to wear every day look as it isn’t too over the top on the shimmer or pigmentation. There are some other gorgeous colours in the range too such as ‘On the Bronze’ which I have had my eye on for a while and plan to purchase sometime in the near future.
