Today I have a super exciting post for you as I was lucky enough to attend the Benefit Stay Flawless event this week. I couldn’t believe it when I saw the invite in my inbox and was so relieved that it was based in London in the evening so I didn’t have to try and get time off work. I could definitely go and was intrigued about what product was being launched.
The event was held in London at Below Zero, which is a bar next to Ice Bar and as soon as you walked in you could see the room filled with cute props and products. Each table was decorated with tulips, a small pink clock (so cute), some Stay Flawless related props and a board with details about Twitter. We were greeted by the Benebabes and given a glass of Prosecco to start the evening.
The event began with a presentation by the lovely Benefit girls who each introduced themselves and spoke a little about their all time favourite Benefit products. This was followed by a brief talk about the history of the brand and some of the products. For those of you who don’t know, Benefit was founded in 1976 by two twin sisters, Jane and Jean who wanted to start a business. They tossed a coin to decide whether this new enterprise would be casseroles or makeup and thankfully the latter won. They opened a tiny makeup boutique and 37 years we have the Benefit brand as it is today!
We then heard about the amazing achievements of the Benefit brand, one being the ‘They’re Real’ Mascara being THE number 1 premium makeup up product. Following this we moved on to the star of the show.. the new product that is being launched. This product is the Stay Flawless 15 hour primer and a demonstration was given by Lisa Potter-Dixon so we could see exactly how to apply it.
This long lasting primer acts like a magnet (a makeup magnet!) to lock your foundation to your skin for 15 fresh and flawless hours. The packaging is cute (as it always is from Benefit) and is completely different from any primer I have seen before. The innovative, invisible stick primer glides directly onto your skin so there is no need to use your fingers or brushes and it aims to give your skin a natural looking finish as well as making your makeup last longer.
After the demonstration we were able to try the primer ourselves, mingle with fellow beauty bloggers whist drinking and eating canapés and have a try of other products from the Benefit brand while we waited to go into the Ice Bar. I wanted to go into the Ice Bar for ages so I was really looking forward and although this is going to sound stupid it is… COLD.. so much colder than you think but definitely an amazing experience.
I look like I have no neck in this photo haha!
The evening was completed with a final presentation and we were each handed a very generous goody bag containing our very own Stay Flawless Primer, Benefit’s Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Brightening foundation (we were each colour matched during the evening) and a brush. I’ve had great fun trying out these products this week and I can’t wait to share my reviews on each of them with you once I’ve used them a little longer.
Thank you so much to the Benefit team for inviting me, I had an amazing time and met some lovely people. Check out their blogs 🙂
