Simple Eye Make-Up Remover Review

Simple Eye Makeup Remover

I was recently on the hunt for a new eye makeup remover because the formulation of the one I previously used separated and went very oily so I couldn’t use it.  In an ideal world I would have bought Bioderma but as I needed a quick fix I had a look at what was on offer in Superdrug.  The one I chose was the Simple Kind to Eyes Eye Makeup Remover.

This remover includes multi vitamins, gentle cleansers and is suitable for sensitive skin so sounded perfect.  To apply you simply pour a little onto a cotton pad and gently wipe (not rub) your eye area.  The packaging of this product is great because the small hole means it is very easy to control how much product you are distributing which prevents wastage.  There is nothing worse than ending up with a soaking wet cotton pad because the excess product can seep into your eyes and cause irritation.

The formula itself is transparent and leaves your eyes feeling fresh and clean.  I much prefer this type of formula in comparison to oil based removers because you are not left with a greasy residue, instead you really do feel clean.  At first glance it does look like your makeup is removed but I have found you do need to use three to four cotton pads to get a thorough clean otherwise when I have had a shower after I have ended up with black under my eyes which is disappointing.  This means you go through quite a lot of product and it can be quite time consuming.  It also wouldn’t be suitable for people with very sensitive eyes.

I really want to like this remover but when it runs out I probably won’t repurchase it.  I definitely prefer it to oil based removers but for me it just doesn’t remove my makeup well enough.  I have even tried it with different mascara’s and eye liners but get the same result.

What do you think of this eye makeup remover? What is your favourite?

Oh, I actually read it was close to being as good as Bioderma. Thanks for reviewing. 🙂 x

I totally agree, it is soothing and non harsh but try removing benefits they're real with and you're screwed 🙂

I tried *so* hard to like this one, but just couldn't at all. I had been wanting to change my routine up a little so bought this having high hopes for it. I found the same as you – what I saved on the product I wasted on cotton wool pads 🙁

I have gone back to my Pond's Cold Cream (one pad for both eyes, I just turn it over) and then French Rose Water (soooo cheap of Amazon) as a very gentle toner.

Due to trying out a heap of mascaras recently the Pond's will get anything off – right down to the really expensive waterproof ones that I have. What I have found the easiest is that they way I went back to (my original way) is so much cheaper too.

I have this eye makeup remover, but to be honest I really liked it 🙂 Perhaps its because I do not wear a lot of eyemakeup but for me it worked well ! And yes I agree its better than oil based makeup removers 🙂
