As you may or may not know I have long naturally curly hair which I often style using heated tools.  The majority of the time I tend to have my hair straight as it is quicker for me to do in the morning so using straighteners which work well with my hair type is important to me.

I remember when I first started straightening my hair around 10 years ago or so ago now and it used to be a very long and tedious task as ceramic plated tools were not around then.  Instead, I relied on my steam straightener which looking back now seems like a ridiculous combination to use on curly hair.. no wonder it didn’t stay in place for long! Now, one of my ‘go to’ hair straightening tools is the *Pro Ionic 27 ceramic plated gadgets from Ko:Kou.

This product sports a black slim line casing which is covered in a gorgeous grey leaf pattern on one side.  The size means it is perfect to hold at different angles so it is comfortable and easy to use. A feature of the Pro Ionic 27 straighteners I particularly like is the temperature control.  You can choose from four different settings by simply pushing the yellow button placed on the side meaning you can choose to heat the tool to 160, 180, 200 or 220 degree C.  This is perfect because depending on the style, your hair type, the products you use and the length of time you need the style to hold you can adjust the temperature accordingly.

The Ko:Kou straighteners are extremely easy to use.  You simply turn them on using the red button, adjust the temperature using the yellow button and within seconds the LED light on the front flashes indicating they are ready.  I love how quickly they heat up so they are perfect to use if you are in a rush and I find the multi-coloured LED indicator cute.  The straighteners themselves, as mentioned above, are easy to use as you simply divide your hair into sections and clamp the tool around it, gently moving down, smoothing the hair as you go.  The result is gorgeous smooth, shiny hair which for me was achieved within 10 minutes.

I find there is one downside to this product and that is me being extremely picky.  The only thing I would change is the length of the cable connecting the straighteners to the plug purely because if it was an inch or two longer it would reach my bedside cabinet when plugged in so would be a little more practical.  Obviously this completely depends on the layout of the room where you are using the straighteners and if I were to use them at my dressing table then this wouldn’t be a problem.  As I say, this is being super picky and by no means affects my opinion on the product as a whole, I love it!

You can buy these Pro Ionic 27 straighteners at Ko:Kou for £29.99.  There are also a number of other ranges or straighteners available which all look great as well as hair dryers. I particularly have my eye on the Pro Ionic 28 straighteners as they have a wide ceramic plate which I have always wanted to try.  The Ionic Turbo Hairdryer also looks fab!
