If I’m honest I’m still finding it hard to believe as I’m writing this it is the last day of 2013. There are so many posts I planned to do between Christmas and New Year which haven’t been written yet let alone published because this day has snuck up out of no-where. It seems silly because obviously it’s the same date every year but time has flown by so quickly! As a result, I will be starting the beginning of 2014 (it sounds weird saying that!) with some favourite posts covering much loved products over the past year as well as my New Years Resolutions.
I really like the idea that one of my first posts will be a round up of 2013 and it’s been fun remembering everything that has happened to pick out a few special moments. It’s good to stop and think back to all the good times enjoyed over the past year but needless to say I haven’t got the best memory in the world so no doubt I have missed out some things!
Here’s my 2013 Round Up…
Blogging – November saw the 1 year anniversary since starting my blog which was a massive milestone for me. If I’m honest, before I started blogging I underestimated how much I would love it and how big the community is. I have been lucky enough to attend some amazing events over the past year including a Benefit Launch, the Pandora Autumn Winter Collection and Debenhams as well as blogger meet ups where I have meet some lovely people. Blogging has opened up so many opportunities to me I never knew existed or were possible and I have even made some lovely friends, such as Becky, Ellie, Rachel, Zoe and Lisahh-Jayne (sorry if I have missed anyone out). It has also given me the chance to get to know and enjoy new brands!
Friends & Family – My family and friends mean the world to me and it wouldn’t be right to write this blog post without mentioning them. I’m very close to my family and want to thank them for everything I they have done for me (I know my mum will read this sometime.. hellooo). I also want to add a shout out to all my friends who read and support my blog, Lizi, Gemma, Claudette… thank you!
Career – You may or may not know that blogging is not a full time job for me. Instead it is a hobby I enjoy to do in my spare time. On a day to day basis my actual job is a Business Analyst which is in a high pressure, stressful environment but is something I love. Looking back at what I have achieved over the past year makes me so proud. I won’t go into details here but when I compare myself to a year ago I have progressed so far and I have a feeling 2014 is going to be an eventful year!
Highlights – Here are some highlights of 2013 for me:
- Seeing one of my best friends get married back in August
- New editions to the family, our little hammie Coco and more fish. RIP Smudge, Millie, Tilly and the other animals we sadly lost this year.
- Going to the Oxo Tower restaurant and Michel Roux Junior’s restaurant at The Langham Hotel for the Birthday
- Last year I bought a place with my boyfriend and this year has seen us getting everything exactly how we wanted. I think we are finally pretty much there.
- Going to various PR events
- Seeing my friend play lots of gigs and shows
- Making new friends through blogging
Lastly, this year has taught me that dreams can come true, you’re stronger than you think you are and to love, laugh and be happy!
