Back in 2012 my boyfriend and I bought our first home together. As it was a new build we had a completely blank canvas to work with and it was really fun to create different looks for each room. At the time we wanted to keep things neutral so in the future when we fancied a change we could easily mix things up by introducing different accessories. The time has come (quicker than I thought if I’m honest) where we fancy a bit of a change so I’m on the look out for some home accessories to change the look and feel of some of the rooms. Here are my picks:
Laura Ashley Lemington Polka Dot Cotton Throw // £55 // Link
We recently transformed our spare room from a second bedroom that didn’t get used much into a second lounge which now gets used every day. In order to do this we swapped the double bed for a sofa bed so people can still stay if they need to but it has really opened up the space. Originally we wanted to get a duck egg blue sofa bed but we found an offer on a more neutral one that was too good to refuse so we bought it with the intention to eventually buy a throw and some cushions to add a little colour. I’m really into polka dots so love this one from Laura Ashley!
Laura Ashley Calissa Scented Hearts // £12.00 // Link
If I’m honest I have no idea where I will put these scented hearts but they are just so cute I had to include them on my wish list. I love the pretty colours and the fact that they are scented too. They would make a lovely feature in one of the bedrooms, maybe hanging on the wardrobe doors or even on some little hooks on the wall.
Next Luxe Faux Fur Cushion // £18.00 // Link
I’m a little obsessed with cushions which means that I’m one of those people that love the sofa and bed to be piled high with different colours and textures. I haven’t got any faux fur ones and this one looks so snuggly and cosy. I’m thinking of maybe combining it with the throw and some others but I will have to see them together to get an idea of what they are really like.
Next Teal Fossil Embroided Cushion // £14 // Link
Continuing with my love for cushions this one from Next is another I really like. The colours are really pretty and I love the delicate design covering them. I think they would look really great on a sofa that has a pretty neutral background or maybe even on the bed. Next is amazing for homeware products, it’s actually one of my favourite places to shop because the quality is good and the prices are very reasonable.
Marks and Spencer Small Wicker Heart // £19.50 // Link
I love anything with hearts and this wicker one from Marks and Spencer is adorable. Our hallway is still looking s bit sparce as we haven’t decorated the walls with photo’s as we intended so a lovely addition will be this cute heart. I love that it is 3D so will add a little dimension and will break up the photo’s nicely.
