Hello Beauties! I was recently tagged by the lovely Chloe at Chloe’s Way to take part in the ‘The Blogger Made Me Do It Tag’. I’ve seen this post doing the rounds a lot lately and it looks like a really fun one so I am glad to be taking part and sharing it with you. I have also tagged a few fellow bloggers at the bottom, so take a peak and see if you’re there. I’d love to read your answers so if you do this tag please leave a comment below with your link so I can take a look.. let’s get started!
1 // Who are your most influential bloggers? Who are the ones that you really rely on for reviews and swatches?
I read lots of blogs but the most influential ones are probably The Sunday Girl and Fleur de Force. If I read a review here I may not always look at more before buying a product as I really trust what they say and their pictures of the products and swatches are always accurate. I particularly like Fleur’s blog and You Tube as we have similar complexions, skin and hair types (other than the colour) so I find if it suits her it will most likely suit me too.
2 // Do you buy a product solely as a result from one review from your favourite bloggers, or do you look for more reviews from others?
Oops, I should have re-read the questions before writing my answers as I seemed to have covered this in my first answer. If the two bloggers above haven’t reviewed a product I am interested in then I will definitely look at other blogs for their reviews but how many really depends on the product. If it is an expensive or hyped about product I tend to look at more reviews because I feel it is more important to get lots of people’s opinions before making a decision on whether to buy or not.
3 // What is your most favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?
This question is surprisingly easy for me to answer and those of you who know me well won’t be shocked by my answer either. I discovered my all time favourite foundation, Chanel Vital Lumiere Aqua through blogging and I absolutely love it! This foundation is better than any other I have tried because it’s low coverage, lasts all day and looks very natural. Read the review here.
4/ // What is your least favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?
This is a tough question as luckily there aren’t many products I have been disappointed in. I guess if I was being very picky I have been a little disappointed in the Revlon Balm Stains which I bought due to the hype around them last year. The one I have is in Crush which is a beautiful berry tone but I have a love hate relationship with it because it can look patchy and cakey if initially you apply too much or if it wears off unevenly. Due to this, I don’t use it as much as I thought I would. Read the review here. Also, the MUA lipsticks have just popped into my head. They are a good alternative due to the low price but I find the just slide off and end up everywhere!
5 // Name 5 products you have bought recently as a result of blogs.
This question has really got me thinking because I haven’t bought anything for a while….
Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille Souffle – This is incredible // Review
La Prairie Midnight Rain Perfume – Sweet, floral and delicious!
Bioderma – This is a cult product that I love // Review
The White Company Candle in Geranium – Lovely candle // Review
I give up.. I can’t think of a fifth one, sorry!
6 // Have you ever given into blogger hype? If so, which hype?
I gave into the hype around the Revlon Lip butters and Maybelline The Falsies mascara and I really like both of them! For the latter it has taken me a while to make my mind up but now it’s a product I reach for most days.
7 // Have you ever avoided blogger hype? If so, which hype?
I haven’t given into the current hype surrounding the Naked 3 palette and although I’m a big fan of Urban Decay I don’t think I will. The palette looks pretty but the shades look a little too pink for me so I don’t think it’s something I will be purchasing.. however many great reviews I keep reading!
8 // Is everything you buy based on blogger reviews or are there some items you buy without checking out a review?
The majority of things I buy are based on blogger reviews but occasionally if I see something I like, particularly if it’s by a brand I trust such as Urban Decay, Chanel or Nars then I will buy it. Other things such as clothes and home ware I always buy without reading reviews unless it is from an online shop.

Aww I love Fleur too 😀 I think she's really genuine and wouldn't just try to push a product for the sake of making a few quid. And I still need to try the falsies mascara. Been wanting to for like, forever!!!

Fleur is my favorite Youtuber and always look forward to her videos. This is such a perfect tag because it all rings so true with me! Reading blogs enables me to buy so many products sometimes if I want to go on a bit of a spending ban I have to cut out reading beauty blogs. x

I've tried both the Revlon lip butters and the Maybelline Falsies mascara and I really wasn't all that impressed. Great post though!

I wasnt impressed by The Falsies mascara at first either because it can be really clumpy but if you wipe off the excess product it's great! X

Haha maybe!
I agree, she does seem very genuine and she's down to Earth too which I like.
I wasnt keen on The Falsies when I first tried it because I found it very clumpy but if you wipe off the excess product it's really good! X
