Lifestyle | Interior Design: TV Beds

TV Bed
Back in 2012 I bought my first home with my boyfriend which was a very stressful and daunting experience but definitely worth it.  We were very lucky to be able to get a foot on the ladder so young and it was very exciting to plan the decor in each room and gradually get together everything. At the time we were looking to buy furniture and soft furnishings because we had both been living at home with our parents so had very little to bring with us. Being a new build we also had a totally blank canvas to start from scratch.

When it came to the bedrooms from the offset we thought about buying a TV bed for the master suite because we wanted to make the most of the space. I’d always had a television in my room so I definitely want to have on in our new place but due to the layout of the room there was no obvious spot where it could go. Therefore, a great alternative was to have it built into the bed. I love this look because I’m not a fan of clutter so it keeps everything so neat and tidy.

There are a numerous styles of TV beds available and in a variety of colours so whatever you’re after you can find it. I personally really like the cream shade because I like our bedrooms to be light as I feel it makes them look bigger. I also like the leather and padded headboards. They look super comfy and the sleek design looks really modern.

The TV mechanism is electronic so they are completely easy to use and the television can even be connected to a dvd player or game console which can be stored in a slot under the bed so again everything is tidied away. I enjoy to watch both tv and films and lately I’ve been going to bed really early because I’ve been a bit under the weather so this is definitely something that interests me.

TV beds are available in double, kind and super king sizes at Bed Sale Online and for very reasonable prices. I was surprised to see you can purchase the GFW Andorra bed frame pictured above for just £596 in the sale (excluding the tv and mattress) which is a bargain but there are also more expensive ranges depending on what you want. If you’re wanting your bed quickly there is also the option of next day delivery which is pretty amazing!

For now we’ve had to settle with having our television in our wardrobe which means it is still tucked away but is using up essential space we could really do with (I need more room for my shoes!). The TV Bed is a really great alternative and I love that it keeps everything so neat and tidy. I definitely still want to have one of these, it’s just a matter of when! The modern feel will fit in with our decor really well and revealing a tv from the bed at a click of a button is pretty cool!
