In today’s post I would like to share my MAC blush collection with you. It isn’t big, in fact it only consists of three shades at the moment so is somewhat a work in progress but they are all ‘go to’ blushes for me and ones I love.
The first blush in my collection is Desert Rose (such a pretty name isn’t it?) which is the pinkest shade I own. It’s a beautiful blush pink which is rich in colour and pigmentation but has a pretty dry formula which means it is long lasting.
Desert Rose blends well and very little is needed to get the perfect pop of colour on my cheeks. I particularly like to wear this blush with a neutral eye and baby pink lips in the summer.
Mocha is a blush that sits between Desert Rose and Tenderling in my collection colour wise. It is pink toned but not quite as deep and rich in colour as Desert Rose which makes it a little more wearable. Again, the formula is pretty dry but it blends well into the skin and looks beautiful during spring with a simple eye and nude lips. This is a a pretty versatile shade, though so it also goes equally well with a bright lip such as MAC Girl About Town.
This is a very pretty feminine shade which would go with a variety of skin tones and leaves the cheeks with a natural splash of pink.
This is the most easy to wear shade in my collection and is the palest. It has a more peach tone to it than the others so goes with a wider range of makeup looks and gives my cheeks a natural splash of colour. I use this blush when I don’t want to have too much emphasis on my cheeks, maybe if I’m wearing heavy makeup or a bright lip like MAC Girl About Town or Rebel. It adds a subtle hint of colour and would be perfect with those with pale complexions.
Like the other blushes, it blends very well and is a forgiving shade. If you’re starting out in makeup or are a little fearful of using blush then this would be a good shade for you. Although it is pigmented, it isn’t to the degree where it is hard to use and blend. This makes it the perfect day to day shade to use when you’re in a rush and don’t want to spend too much blending and layering colour.
