Last year I attended an amazing event in London with Superdrug, a brand I love. They introduced a unique concept called the ‘Swap Shop’ which has not only been a lot of fun to take part in but has also introduced me to some amazing new products. The idea behind this is that I gave the Superdrug team a list of my favourite beauty items and they gave me Superdrug brand alternatives to try. One of those being a gorgeous body butter which is the alternative to my Laura Mercier Body Souffle. This is such a great idea and I’ve really enjoyed taking part so I will be creating a mini series of posts which will compare each of the products I have tried. Here is a little more detail about the body butter.
The *Vitamin E All Body Butter is stored in a simple round tub that I really like. It’s pretty compact and packed full of product so you get a lot for your money and it is easy to tuck away in my drawer and travel with too. I like the simple design and branding as it makes the product look more expensive than it is and it’s not fussy.
As for the product itself, this body butter contains natural shea and cocoa butter as well as horse chestnut extract which nourishes my skin well and leaves it super soft and smooth. Despite having a luxurious thick and creamy consistency it also absorbs extremely quickly into my skin and doesn’t leave any greasy residue at all. This Superdrug body butter is also enriched with naturally sourced Vitamin E which is an antioxidant that helps shield the skin against environmental damage and premature skin aging by fighting the harmful effects of free radicals.Other ingredients include vitamins A, B, F and H which help care for dry skin.
This is a really lovely skin care product and I have been using it most evenings. It has a really subtle scent which reminds me of Summer but doesn’t linger for long and I have really enjoyed using it. In comparison to the Laura Mercier alternative, the scent and texture of the product is different as it isn’t as sweet and the formula is thicker but the result of each is equally as good. Both leave my skin feeling soft, healthy and nourished.
The Vitamin E All Over Body Butter is one of many items in the range included a micellar water, wipes, face mask, serum and body oil. I’ve been really impressed with this product and I would definitely purchase it. It is a really great affordable alternative to other body butters and body moisturisers on the market and nourishes my skin well. In fact this is priced at £2.99 whereas the Laura Mercier Body Souffle I also used is priced at £44.50 which is a huge difference. I can’t believe how good this product is for the price.. it’s gorgeous.
It doesn’t look like this product is available online but if you’re interested in buying it take a look in store.
